Philosophy
By reviving and combining elements of our past projects, we aim to express a sense of continuity and reinvention—celebrating our history. For us, this installation is a living reflection of our journey and a desire to create spaces that ignite joy, inspire curiosity, and foster a shared experience of awe. This piece is an invitation for participants to immerse themselves in a space where intricate metalwork meets the thrill of fire and vibrant lights. We hope to evoke wonder, playfulness, and a sense of connection, encouraging everyone to engage directly with the installation, the Iron Monkeys, and each other.

Summary
(Re)Routing is a 4-sided community space with a 12’ tall flaming armillary in the center. Surrounding the armillary are four glowing gems that indicate the cardinal directions, wood-burning fire pits, flaming zen gardens and a collection of benches. The armillary and gems are from previous projects
Description(Re)Routing will be a 45’ wide, four-sided gathering space that includes both new pieces and reimagined sculptural pieces from Iron Monkey projects gone by.
We are bringing back the armillary from Plaza of Introspectus (2019), a 12’ tall spherical model of the celestial sky with fire and newly added LED light panels. As the centerpiece, it will be reworked from its original form to be more detailed, finessed and more visually complex than it was originally. The base of the armillary will include new illuminated panels that will glow constantly at night, regardless of flame effects. Piped with propane, the armillary will be encased in fire at night providing light and warmth. Also returning are LED backlit gems from Glimmer (2024) which will be placed at the edges of the space. Fire zens originating from The Crossroads (2010), and two new fire pits will fill the inside of Re(Routing). Benches from Glimmer (2024) will be placed next to two new wood burning fire pits.
